Reseller 📦 I Like to Lift 🏋️‍♀️ Meat Eater 🥩 Journaler ✍ Dog Mom 🐕 Homesteader at 💙 Love Junk 🗑 Sticker Maker 🌸

I had this poster for almost 3 years & for most of I had this poster for almost 3 years & for most of it, had it listed for over $100 dollars with best offer. Some watchers, no offers, no bites etc.

I lowered the price to $79 & it sold on Etsy the other day. It's a great looking poster flaws & all. I wrapped it around a foam tube (for pipes, not a pool noodle 🤭) & put it in a tube.

I learned, at the last meetup, if shipping something in a tube it's considered an "irregular" package so I marked it as such & $4 was tacked on.

@Pirateship says:
"Tubes and irregular packages:
A $4 nonstandard characteristics fee applies to any tube or irregular packaging shipment when you select this packaging type, regardless of its dimensions."

Learn something new every day. Did you know tubes were considered irregular?
Our basement is way too short to be livable so I h Our basement is way too short to be livable so I have a lot of my reselling stuff stored there from packaged boxes ready to go, to empty boxes ready to be filled.

A loooong time ago I decided to take a couple of our card tables, installed casters through the top, flipped them over & lined up boxes in between the extended legs. I also added a metal curtain rod holder to help keep them from falling through.

Keeping boxes organized is hard as it is on top of keeping enough larger boxes on hand for those bigger shipments & I've found this set-up works quite well.

What's one of the best ways you've found to store some of your supplies?
I know I've shared before how I listed my great au I know I've shared before how I listed my great aunt’s jewelry in Facebook groups & managed to move quite a bit that way. When I was left with the unsold pieces, I bundled them into a large lot & listed for $125. Immediately after listing I had a knee-jerk reaction raising the price to $175 🤷‍♀️

It ended up selling within a couple of hours. I don’t mind if someone buys from me to resell or just gets a great deal for themselves. I'm happy for them as they're obviously a better fit 💯

I still have a few items listed & they sell here & there. One colorful, pretty piece just sold for a best offer of $40, even with a couple of beads that had fallen out (which I still had). I was more than happy to accept.

These days, I don’t wear much jewelry myself beyond my rings. Has your jewelry wearing changed over the years?
As we celebrate 19 years of marriage & I'm looking As we celebrate 19 years of marriage & I'm looking through photos, I'm thinking of how I found my wedding dress on the clearance rack #truethrifter. So, when I saw the $200 price tag, I was like great, it's not gonna cost $200 👗

I'd wanted to buy it myself but, my mother insisted & when we went up to the counter & found out it wasn't on sale after all, I got mad 😠

I've always been a thrifter & it makes me laugh to think I thought it was SO expensive however, I still do find it silly.

I'd worn my mother's wedding dress to the rehearsal dinner & I thought, dang, why didn't I just wear this?

Maybe I'll wear it when we celebrate 20 years 😊
Went back to the Dr's estate today & picked up mor Went back to the Dr's estate today & picked up more slides in these 2 gorgeous cabinets by Neumade. They sell for many pretty pennies & I've sold slide cabinets before but, not this brand, size, or color. I'm happy they're still popular 🤗

I took one last trip around & found a corner cabinet that, when the door was open, it kept going off to the right & you couldn't really see unless you poked your head in & stretched a bit 🤸‍♀️

I grabbed my flashlight, leaned in & off to the right were 2 little vintage SONY TVs stacked on top of each other. I pulled them out, plugged 'em in, & they worked. I was ecstatic 🎉

Over the 2 days of this estate sale, I spent $90 on 32 items...$2.81 each. However, it's even less really since I've got probably 1000s of slides, some of which I'm sure I'll die with. I certainly won't be breaking down the cost any further though 🙅‍♀️

I'm so happy I made another walk through even though I hesitated & thought, "what else could I possibly find?" Have you ever done a 2nd or 3rd pass only to find something you missed the 1st time?
I hit a bunch of sales today & one of the things I I hit a bunch of sales today & one of the things I picked up was hundreds of vintage photo slides.

Most of which are medical related. It runs the gamut from pretty gruesome to bruises, abrasions & X-rays.

Seems I can list them on Etsy as long as a few guidelines are followed. If not, there's a Facebook group for everything you ever wanted. As well as for what you never thought you wanted 😏

What do you think I should do with them? I mean, Halloween is coming up 🎃

Have you ever considered triple boxing something? Have you ever?
The hairdryer I purchased before our meetup sold a The hairdryer I purchased before our meetup sold after just 2 days for $110+ shipping. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not afraid to list high but, I was kinda thinkin''...."What are you thinking?!" ❓❓ My cogs: $2.15 🤯

Now, I'm not sure where I heard this & I'm sorry to whomever I'm forgetting but, it could have been at our meetup, or a podcast, or YouTube, etc. They said, anything orange right now, because of Taylor Swift, should be something you look out for. Well, I also have no idea if I heard this before or after I purchased the bright orange hair dryer 🤷‍♀️

We know it isn't over until it arrives & the buyer is happy but, that's every sale isn't it? Who's gonna start digging through their orange pile now?
Before our last @centralillinoisebaysellers meetup Before our last @centralillinoisebaysellers meetup I decided to get there early enough so I could stop at a couple thrift stores.

I went to @wild.thriftandsniff as well as their Habitat for Humanity & I was impressed with how large they both were. None of our local thrifts are anywhere near as big 📐

I came home with a 1988 "Son of a Gun" Clairol hair dryer in bright orange & a squiggly white ceramic vase. I loved that their receipts were printed on the, now defunct, Big Lots paper too.

Does anyone else want their Big Lots back like I do? 😆

Walking through houses like this makes me think ab Walking through houses like this makes me think about the fine line between living in abundance & being buried by it. The vines were even swallowing it up. Someone called this place home, right up until the end. The house was massive yet they stuck to a path 👣

I was talking with the lady who was in charge & she was completely overwhelmed saying, "Why did I not realize it was Labor Day weekend?! We need this stuff gone." She was friends with the ex-wife of the person who passed. The ex-wife lives in California & as far as I know, she wasn't there. I'm guessing she's known all along what she'd be up against if & when the time came.

Even for me, who loves to rummage through stuff, found it was too much & most items were far too dirty, some completely ruined by the lack of care. It’s haunting, sad, & a little sobering. Sure, I can joke about the stairs being a tripping hazard or the bathroom needing more than just a scrub but beneath it, there’s a real story about life, time, & what we leave behind.

Outside of inventory, I really don't have personal items stored or packed away. I just don't like having too many things & clutter makes me angry 😉

Have you been to sales where the amount of stuff was almost too overwhelming?
I've not shared much of our garden this year & app I've not shared much of our garden this year & apples will not be one of them 🍎

Sadly, we only had a handful & those greedy squirrels got 'em 😫

Outside of inventory photos, my phone is usually filled with garden stuff, insects, bugs, & arthropods 🕷️

I've also upped my Kombucha game this year so if anyone local wants a SCOBY or 80, lemme know 🥤

What beautiful things are you surrounded by right now?

These two shades were hanging out in the basement These two shades were hanging out in the basement of an estate sale I went to today. Only AFTER I went down there did I find out I wasn't supposed to be down there 😬

Don't let the images fool you...they were in awful shape. Sometimes the best purchases are the ones you don’t make. These basement shades were cool but, between the grime, the smell, & the rule-breaking, I left them right where they were 🚫

While I did find a few things which don't absorb smells too much, not every sourcing story ends with the haul it could have been if it weren't for the elements. Sometimes it’s just the thrill of the encounter 🤩

How often do you come across estate sales where the house was all but falling apart? 🤔
I've won a few things throughout my life but, this I've won a few things throughout my life but, this is the luckiest streak I think I've ever had. @ebay Open's virtual live stream was great & while it's come & gone, the gifts keep on giving 🎁

For showing up & participating, I got a $25 eBay gift card & pretty much immediately bought a pair of shoes because mine are all pretty gross. I'm looking forward to some eBay swag to arrive & I also won a $100 eBay gift card! I'll be tacking on some more shoes because of aforementioned....GROSS-ness 🤢

Now, I need to figure out what else I'd like to get. While I made the decision to buy the shoes quickly & easily, I find it difficult to buy things for myself. I usually just buy stuff we need. Either that or office supplies which is also a need 🤷‍♀️

Do you find it hard to buy things for yourself?
Well, this sold fast within a 1/2 hour or so yeste Well, this sold fast within a 1/2 hour or so yesterday AND I accepted an offer of $150 around 20% off. I've sat on it forever because these old computers & monitors do make me nervous. So, instead of tinkering with the price back & forth, I gladly accepted my new found pen-pal's offer.

We had a great back & forth which went pretty quickly. So, when I immediately accepted the offer, the final message said "Wow I got it? Haha thanks" 🙏

You better believe you got it my friend. It alone weighs 35 lbs & the box was decently sized at 23" x 20" x 16". I know I've said it before. I worry EVERY TIME I ship something like this. I may just be punishing myself 😏

We dropped it off this morning since our @UPS is open on Sundays & now, I wait "patiently" for it to arrive safely. If it doesn't, I'll cry myself to sleep until one day I've forgotten how awful I felt & do it all over again 🤪

Do you do anything in your reselling biz you really don't like to do but, you keep doing it?
Looks as if the skies would like to beam up my don Looks as if the skies would like to beam up my donation pile & I would love it, if that were a thing.

This is my 2nd round & I'm still going through inventory & pulling items but, I can't let this pile get much bigger without losing my mind. Walking around gets us into too many traffic jams🚦

Don't get me wrong, I can be an absolute pig but, my sanity appreciates it so much more when I keep things as jenga-fied as possible.

Are you more organized or you more of a pig 🐖
I sold a glass shade the other day & not only did I sold a glass shade the other day & not only did it arrive quickly, my customer left feedback quickly. This one had me smiling from ear to ear 🤗

I'd taken a picture before I double boxed it up but, I loved how my little work area looked at that moment. Would you look at the mess of lamps 🤭
I sold one of these Ethan Allen wooden stools year I sold one of these Ethan Allen wooden stools years ago & just recently came across another & it sold fairly quickly. Both were in pretty rough shape. The legs on this were wobbly with nicks and gouges throughout. I was sure to mention the flaws & take close up photos. I'm so glad I can sell less than perfect, sometimes WAY less than perfect items 😊

I gladly accepted an offer 1/2 off of my asking pr I gladly accepted an offer 1/2 off of my asking price. Why? Because I listed them high in the first place, I've had them forever, no one has shown interest, maybe I didn't have the best descriptions, edits haven't "worked", etc.

Whatever the reason, I"m OK with letting these go. I have to think about the physical space it's taking up as well as the mental.

People say to take the emotion out of it & I only kinda sorta agree with this but, it's exactly what I'm doing in this instance. I'm looking at the inventory I'm surrounded by & making decisions.
