On Saturday, I picked up a wonderful lot of lamp shades along with an adorable pink Southern Belle lamp. I've sold the larger poppy designed shades numerous times over in all kinds of different shapes 💡

I listed the larger one yesterday & it sold a few hours later. They are truly winners for me. I haven't listed any of the others just yet 🏷️

I've also sold the pink shade only before so it was nice to find it complete. I'm thinking I'll rewire it 🔌

I found these all in one store so I'm happy I chose to stop by before I got a few groceries.

How long can an IG post be? 😏

I picked up this ornate wooden framed mirror at an auction back in November & it sold on eBay just before Christmas. I packaged it up & sent it on its way.

The day it was delivered, I get a message from the buyer saying it had broken & my heart sank. Nooo, I've never had anything break!! Turns out it wasn't even the mirror that broke, it was a portion of the decorative wooden frame that also snapped.

I asked for pictures so I could file a claim & let her know I'd reimburse her. She stated I could hold off on a refund because #1, she was going to repair it & #2, she wanted to wait for UPS' response. I swear, people surprise me all the damn time.

The claim was NOT as straightforward as it could be but, I did it. I don't know how many days had passed but, I then receive a message from the buyer again asking if I could just reimburse her $20 or $25. I told her I'd been thinking about it (which I had been) & was going to go ahead & reimburse her in full (minus original shipping).

She responded with, "Thank you & May your kindness be rewarded" 😊

Well, at some point I checked my @UPS dashboard to find they had denied my claim & what's weird is, sometime after this, I received an actual letter in the mail from them saying it was denied but, that I needed to share "the final eBay bid page". If this information was shared on the claim dashboard, I certainly didn't see it.

I searched online & found a phone number for UPS & was told all I needed to share was a screenshot of the "order details" page that had ALL info pertaining to the sale & resubmit.

To my surprise, it was eventually approved. My buyer's wish came true! 🥠

So, when filing a claim through UPS' site my advice is to upload photos along with a screenshot of the "order details" page. Cross your fingers & wait 🤷‍♀️

When the buyer realized it was us pulling in to the parking lot, he got out & pulled down the tailgate of his truck. We park & @mozzwald carries the TIMEX over, placing it on the back. We share some small talk while he walks to the cab, leans in & comes out with a key. Intriguing 🤔

I had described in the listing about the display case missing its key & wouldn't you know it, the key worked & he was able to lock it up. I'm sure the key was fairly common but, I commend his preparedness 🙂

He had the eBay barcode pulled up, I scanned it, & it showed up immediately as "picked up".

While I'm not saying I won't do it again, I am saying I need to regroup & build up the courage all over again 😆

I sold this old typewriter crate on Facebook yesterday. I'll usually list a handful of larger items on FB because, while I’ve listed them on various platforms, they haven’t moved quick enough for me & they're taking up space. So, I throw ‘em on Facebook at far lower prices.

I've also talked about the rotating TIMEX watch display a couple of times before but, I finally listed it a few weeks ago & now I can say it sold on eBay via local pick up. I've never used local pick up before through eBay & outside of the buyer having paid already (which I've heard is not the best way to do it?), we’ve already set up a date & time to meet. I did choose for it to be cash only but, oh well, we'll see how it goes 🤷‍♀️

The buyer is driving almost 3 hours one way to get here so I can only hope there's no hazardous weather conditions & they don't feel like they wasted their time. We're not meeting up until mid week but, we we're supposed to get 5" to 7" of snow today but, we shall see. Now, I'm just going to wish him safe travels & that everything goes off without a hitch. Wish us luck!

What a wonderful message from someone who didn't end up buying anything from me. How do they know I work so hard? 😉

The shade on Mercari was the same shade...my shade...so, when it sold on Etsy, I removed it from Mercari. I'm guessing that's when it clicked for them.

I've only ever run into one other person who connected the fact the item was the same. I was running a sale on one platform & not the others. They reached out asking how low I would go. I said, the sale price going on right now is the lowest I'll go 🤷‍♀️
I don't think they bought the item but, I thought it was funny.

I tried something new & bought these 4 Cricket bats. I know absolutely nothing about Cricket or really any sport for that matter.

I picked them up at Goodwill for just under $5. To me, they're in horrible shape but, I took numerous close up photos.

I did a bit of research & all I can say is that some Cricket bats sell for A LOT of money. Also, I wasn't all that interested in finding out any more about them so I threw them up & waited just under a month.

I ended up getting an offer of $105 & I was giddy about it. I have no doubt if I'd done more research I would have been able to earn more but, in order to command a higher price, someone more versed in the game of Cricket should have picked them up 😏

The 1st talks about how I shipped something non-fragile basically as if it were🤣
- Lemme explain: I shipped some sheets in a box & since I don't want a knife/blade to cut right into them, I lay an additional piece of cardboard on both the top & bottom as well as putting a sticker that says something along the lines of "if using a blade, make shallow cuts". They'd still have to dig pretty deep to damage it but, just in case 😜

The one right after talks about how the packing was awesome for an old computer monitor which is indeed fragile 💪

Fragile or not, I'm packing with care 📦

When someone asks if each mousepad's corner is peeling back, since I did make sure to include in the listing that some were, you take a picture of the stack of 7 you still have left to sell. Better yet, you take 4 pictures showing each corner of the stack so it gives the best description possible.

I really like customer service. I mean, I really like it. I know it's hard to believe since I've been known to say I don't like many people which is also true 😏

Now I have 6 left out of 10 and they sell for around the $28 mark. I got them for $1 each at a local thrift some time ago. I love selling this kind of stuff.

I had an early morning appointment today & on my way back home I happened to see the smallest little red arrow sticking out of the ground. I had no idea what it said so, I followed it which led to 2 more little red arrows. I ended up at an estate sale one street over from our house & it was just opening.

It was a small sale but, FULL of stuff. There were a lot of duplicate items which, I think, made it look more massive than it was? I saw the banjo & knew I wanted it but, for whatever reason, I kept shopping, bought some other things, & left. I'm a dumb dumb sometimes 🤷‍♀️

Obviously I went back & what's funny is, Mozz & I sing stupid little phrases sometimes to the tune of the Fraggle song because we're both dumb dumbs sometimes. 😊

I also still have a little Fraggle Rock record hiding in my office from childhood. It's also now on the block to potentially sell along with this lil' banjo 🤔

We're having a fun food day today. I made some beef stock yesterday & decided to can it up using our fairly new NESCO canner. It holds 4 quarts which is what appealed to me instead of using our All American. Unfortunately 2 broke 😢

@mozzwald is smoking a Chuck Roast & threw in some eggs as a test. The eggs didn't take long at all so we enjoyed a couple & threw a few more on. They're adorable on our little Corelle plates I got at an auction 😉

I'm loving the nicer temps sticking around a bit longer.
I welcome fall but, winter renders me useless.
I also tend to sleep harder as the year goes on which has begun & I'm already in hibernation mode 😴

We bring our Wandering Jew in every year & I can't believe how massive it is.
Last year we brought in tons of bugs along with it so we gave it a gentle soapy bath this time.

I find it pretty amazing but, I've had it for far too long! While we do have a lot of watches, we don't have enough to fill it plus, we don't have enough room to actually display it appropriately.

We'd been looking for the once in a lifetime comet over the last few days, never finding it. Until tonight, right before we were giving up for a 3rd time did I see what I "thought" might be it.

We took a thousand photos & got this single one which looks halfway decent.

Interesting to think it won't come around for another 80,000 years ⏱
